Lieutenant Commander Max Shean DSO**, US Bronze Star

Western Australian Max Shean was a distinguished submariner recognised for his hazardous achievements aboard the X and XE-class midget submarines during WWII. Max Shean influenced the outcome of the war when he severed Japanese communications during daring operations as a diver, engineer and commander.
